SUMMER ESSENTIALS

WHAT YOU NEED THIS SUMMER

Good evening Little Ones! I’ve just arrived home from the gym, leg day can really take it out on you! While taking some time to rest, I thought it would be a great idea to sit down and crack on with a blog post, nothing better than putting your feet up and and typing away.
Although, it won’t be long until I make desert, I’m thinking scones!
Anyhow, since summer is on the doorstep I thought I would conduct a blog post listing the products you need this summer, if that’s something that tickles your fancy, keep scrolling.
To ensure you are keeping up to date with my content, click here!
Without any further or do, let’s crack on with summer essentials!

If you expect an array of reviews for each product you will be highly disappointed, it’ll be a list of several products with mini reviews, but if you do want a full review on each product please do let me know and I will make that happen!

THE PERFECT BAG:

For such a LONG time, I’ve been hunting down the ‘perfect’ summer bag, who wants a bulky tote when sweating profusely? Not me, (and I sweat so much for a petite person), anyhow … It’s been an utter nightmare, I carry too little for my average sized bag, but too much to place in my pockets, either that or I palm it off to my other half, (which actually encouraged me to purchase a bag). I wanted something that looked quirky, as well as complimenting my daily outfits, seeing that I wear a tonne of black having something that’s completely opposite like this Topshop wonder is a dream.
It’s the perfect size to carry your daily essentials, for me that would be: phone, keys, cards, perfume, and of course my personal favourite … Lipstick! I adore the dissimilar silver balls, the way they are sporadically placed brings me joy, it adds an element of creativity, (which is what I look for in a bag), as well as convenience as there are two main sections which helps me organise the items within the bag.
If white isn’t your colour, this bag also comes in: mint green and black, but instead of silver it’s replaced with gold.
Annoyingly, I preferred the mint colour, but I despise gold … Hence why I purchased the silver version, but if you rock gold then go ahead and buy that, it just wasn’t my cup of tea.
Personally, this was my choice, I’m not saying, you must purchase this bag! But if you like the look of it then why not? It’s priced fairly at £27, I’ll place the link down below for you, that way you can view all the colours!

GOOD LUCK SCRUB:

I’m the type of person that suffers severely with dry skin, which intensifies in the summer, who else has that problem? I’ve tried several scrubs in the past and nothing has worked for me until I met this beauty … The good luck scrub by Rituals has saved my life, (more so my skin). Once I’ve been in the sun for a long period of time, my skin starts to flake, I hop into the shower and place tiny scoops where needed, for instance my dryer patches are situated behind my arms, I carefully rub into the skin and wash it off with warm water.
The overall affect after using this product is perfection, I feel like a summer goddess, (without the tan), smooth is an understatement, but it leaves your skin dewy for a couple of days, the best aspect about this scrub is that a little goes a long way, all the ingredients are natural, so if you suffer with eczema, (like myself), that won’t be an issue.
I can’t stress enough how imperative it is to have one of these lying around, and it doesn’t have to be this one in particular, you always need to maintain skincare from the face down … You have to exfoliate and kiss your dry patches goodbye, who wants dead-skin settling in and ruining your summer holiday?
If you are interested in this particular product I’ll leave the link down below for you, saves you from researching the product yourself, (believe me, I’m that lazy).

HYDRATING MOISTURE MASK:

As mentioned previously I suffer with severely dry skin, (peels off in flakes dry skin), even if you have oily/combination skin you should always ensure that you are keeping it hydrated throughout the summer, (obviously you wouldn’t use a product as rich as the one above, but you would find something that would suit your skin type).
Origins introduced a new product to the skincare market, plastered all over social media, I couldn’t stop looking at their posts on Instagram … It was pleading me to purchase! Considering the hotter weather was nibbling away at my skin I needed a mask that would bring it back to life and replace the juices the sun had sucked out.
Origins has always been a number one for me, as you will notice in this blog post, (I promise this isn’t sponsored, I’ve always seen fantastic results when using Origins products); once I purchased the product I used it straight away, placed it on my face and left if for around 10 minutes, (any excess product left-over, I rubbed into my skin).
My face felt brand-new, although this mask was, £26.50 it was worth every penny, and I can say that as it worked for me! If you don’t want this product Garnier offer a great sheet mask, dedicated to penetrating moisture into the skin.
You will also see another theme throughout this post, all the products mentioned I will place a link below for you, as it makes is easier for you, (when I read blog posts, I really appreciate the person placing a link for me, I don’t know if that’s because I’m exceedingly lazy or impatient, either way I love it).

HANDBAG SIZED PERFUME:

Taking a break from skincare at the moment, let’s move onto perfume, another favourite of mine! I have quite the perfume collection, but I love switching up my scent according to the season, typically in the summer I adore fresh/fruity scents, simply because it represents summer in an accurate light; and when I smell that particular perfume it brings back content memories of a specific season, (can anyone else relate?)
Although, another aspect to the perfect summer perfume is to make it travel friendly … Bringing back to the first product of this post … Smaller bags are easier to carry, but they decrease in size, (obviously), purchase a perfume which you can carry around with you! Who doesn’t want to smell luscious at all times?
Gucci released a relatively new perfume titled, ‘Gucci Guilty’, I’m rather new to the Gucci scene, I typically go head over heals with Chanel perfume, (which is my all time favourite scent for summer); but every now and then I need to switch it up.
I will warn you, this scent is rather pungent, so no need to spray endlessly, (unless you want people to cough profusely as you walk past them). It’s super fresh with a hint of musk, (which makes it sexy), something I normally wouldn’t go for, but it’s absolutely divine.

OUT OF TROUBLE MASK:

Throwing it back to skincare! And low-and-behold, it’s another Origins product, God I wish this was actually sponsored, I adore their products, (if you couldn’t tell already). Although hydration is key when your climate is too hot to handle, you also need to cleanse the skin and ensure that excess sweat doesn’t clog your pores. To ensure that your skin is as it’s best, invest in a wonderful detox mask, I found this beauty a while back from Origins, (what a surprise), and it’s lasted forever! You can tell I’ve had it a while as they’ve even updated the packaging … Anyhow, this mask, (just like any other detox mask), strips away your natural oil, as well as excess dirt and grease and replaced it with fresh cleansed skin … Yes it may feel dry afterwards, but just use a good moisturiser afterwards.
If I’m suffering with a bad skin day, I will always use this product, it keeps the beasts at bay, (which means a happy Amy).

FACIAL SCRUB:

I promise you this is the LAST skincare item, but if you need to take anything away from this blog post, skincare is the key for enjoying your summer holiday! After all the moisture and detox sometimes that isn’t enough, for me personally I need something hardcore to scrub away all the dead-skin, Origins have created the perfect facial scrub in my opinion; the beads are rough enough to obliterate dead-skin; but the formula is so soothing that it replaces all the natural oils, (instead on stripping it away like a detox mask, it replaces it as well as getting rid of unwanted dirt).
I’ve been using this product for a few months, and I have also written a dedicated blog post for this product, if you want to read that then click here.
I can’t say much but that it does the job and I couldn’t be happier with this product, it makes my skin look brand new! Please, if you don’t purchase this one at least invest in a facial scrub, it really does make all the different, not just in your skin; but for your make-up routine as well.

BRIGHT LIPSTICK:

Summer isn’t summer without a boisterous bright lipstick, that can be ANY shade and brand of your choice, but make sure it is bright! I’m a lipstick collector, lipstick is the overall product that I can’t live without … I would rather have a naked face than go without lipstick, I think you get the point, (if you want a lipstick collection let me know).
I don’t mind spending extra coin on lipstick, although the quality has to be there. Chanel didn’t let me down here, this is the shade, first light, it was the first bright orange lipstick I purchased, simply because I didn’t think my pale complexion could pull this off, but surprise I’m obsessed! This is the perfect summer shade, if I can pull it off, you can also! Doesn’t matter if you are Caspar the ghost, you got this!

That’s it Little Ones! That is the end of this blog post I really do hope you enjoyed this read, it was defiantly something out of my comfort zone, but I’m so pleased that I finally completed this, it was on the top of my to-do-list! I think it’s time for me to hit the hay!
Also, tell me what you think of the new set-up, thanks to my lovely fiance he managed to design and set up my entire new blog! Yay to Chris and thank you so much!

Stay safe and stay tuned Little Ones! 🙂 x x x

Im impressed, I must say. Really rarely do I encounter a blog thats both educative and entertaining, and let me tell you, you have hit the nail on the head. Your idea is outstanding; the issue is something that not enough people are speaking intelligently about. I am very happy that I stumbled across this in my search for something relating to this.
