WASTE OF MONEY?
Good evening Little Ones, it’s been a while since I’ve sat down and taken the time out of my day to write a hearty blog-post.
To be perfectly honest I feel ashamed, each time I get the urge to type a review I feel a huge wave of anxiety and guilt
But today is the day where I ignore my emotions and suck it up.
Luckily enough Bobbi Brown recently launched a brand new lipstick collection … Which happens to be the luxe matte lip colour.
If you are itching to find out what the product looks like, how it performs and if it’s worth the hype, scroll below and continue reading.
Firstly, Bobbi Brown has maintained their iconic monochrome exterior, each product I’ve every purchased from the company continues to remain consistent, polished and modern.
I was pleasantly surprised when I opened the package, as I was met with a golden bundle of joy … The luxe matte lipstick in the shade semi-naked.
It was a bold move to make, although not only was it phenomenal to witness Bobbi Brown blossom, but as a consumer it was easier to view Bobbi Brown’s beauty range and be able to differentiate between several collections.
The matte champagne component ties in perfectly with the entire collection, as well as maintaining Bobbi Brown’s prestigious aesthetics.
Fundamentally, I decided to go ahead and purchase semi-naked as I was in dire need of “the perfect nude”, also the swatches I made in store gave me the assumption that it would suit my skin-tone perfectly.
Initially the colour is gorgeous, I couldn’t get a better match it’s an easy lipstick to throw on before heading out the door.
On the other hand, when I applied the lipstick the formula was slightly strange … It felt like I was smothering my lips with velvet, (which is a texture I detest).
My mouth felt slightly dry and enhanced the lines in my lips, I would state that before you apply the lipstick give your lips a good scrub, and use a heavy duty lip-balm.
But, the longevity outweighs the cons … I placed this product on my lips in the morning and I didn’t have to re-apply until 5 hours later, within that timeframe I had eaten breakfast and lunch, (and too many sweet teas from Starbucks).
Let’s bite the bullet, this lipstick retails for £28 … Which isn’t the most expensive lipstick I own, but it’s not the best value for money.
For £28 it needs to tick all my boxes and unfortunately this product didn’t, but that doesn’t mean it won’t tick yours.
The shade is stunning, but it’s something that I have seen before … Yash by Mac is £16, a perfect dupe and a fraction of the price.
Overall the lipstick wasn’t awful, the longevity was fantastic but it dried my lips out to the point that I just wanted to take it off.
I personally wouldn’t purchase this product again, but it was worth the try … Their art stick is fantastic, a creamy matte alternative which lasts just as long without your mouth appearing dehydrated.
Little ones, this is now the end of my blog post I’m not normally negative about a product, but sometimes I have to keep it real … This product didn’t live up to my expectations.
But, just because it didn’t work for me doesn’t mean that it won’t work for you.
Bobbi brown offer a fantastic colour range, if you want to check them out I will leave a link down below for you.
I hope you enjoy the rest of your evening, remember to stay safe and stay tuned! X x x
